Summer comiket in Tokyo!

The sweet and talented lillithium proposed to share her boot with me. She paints aquarel in a very unique style and she works in pen and ink making the most detailed and wonderful compositioned drawings. Her stories are sweet and have a grown up Harry and Draco who are very realistic. She knows good humor and loves art and I think we're a good match ^_^

♥ Thank you Lillithium!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥

It took me three printing companies, several try outs with different images and a quest for affordable off white printing paper... (Ni, ni, ni)

I present thee a temporarily still shirtless coverless little book and four different postcards:

pieta hbp
This is the finished drawing of those sketches i've been showing parts of. I only used a ruler once: to draw the square which is 12cm by 13cm. After that I did everything by hand (even those semi circles)erasing my mistakes so many times I'm still surprised it got finished in time. Strange thing is, after completing it and just for the fun of it I looked for the golden ratio . 14 times it was there, in the composition and in the placement of hands and their face. Now how amazing is that? (another proof I'm irrational ^_^)

The postcards: Unfortunatly they costed me a fortune, they're digital print on plain white paper. (Snape, Dobby, Padfoot and the Weasleys)

27072006016
The books halfway. As you can see, I'm binding them by hand. It takes a lot of work but it looks nice. These won't be very expensive :D yay!

I hope to eta this post soon with a picture of a very finished book, numbered by hand (40 copies are made, the first nine go to friends, I'll keep one just for me) ^_^

ETA Here's the eta:

27072006021
The second image: Harry reading the Half Blood Prince's potion's book in his four-poster bed. The house elf on the left says 'Please do not copy'. This is weird, since the book is made of photocopies and looks like a copy itself.

27072006022
This is the cover of the book: it's grey. I looked allover town but nobody had what I wanted. :/ I'm not easy when it comes to making books.
The strange light is a reflection in my metal ruler and lettre opener (which looks a bit like a knife).

There, eta'ed with pics of the finished book :)

Mnem:
Good luck! I hope you sell all your booklets!

I loved your postcards specially the Weasley's one. I know I don't loose anything by asking but, could I somehow buy one postcard set from you. I'll send a money order, check or something.
I adore your art and this could be my only chance to own something you've done.

PS/ My desktop is your picture of Harry in his cupboard, which I adore.

It's very touching to hear you like my art so much. ♥

But I can't make an exception or more people might want to buy too. So I'm very deeply sorry but no, I can't sell you some of the cards. ;_;

Aww, I had him on my desktop too for a while.

You know, I don't think it's wrong to send card to you. If you email me your address (I promise by my honour that I will not abuse your address!) I'll send you one of the cards, the normal way, with a stamp and 'sunny greetings from mnem' at the back. I hope that's also ok for you.

it's josephdeclerq at hotmail dot com and tell me which one you'd like to have.

Wow, you do get to travel quite a bit, don't you? :)

The ink drawing is very pretty. Lovely hatching and tonality. I really like the postcards as well - isn't there a risk of copyright violation in making and selling those?

I hope you scan the book, when it's done - I'd love to see the finished product!

Have a great time at the Tokyo Comiket, and enjoy all the artistic inspiration. :D

Well, it does say on the back of the cards:
'Disclaimer: the character (s) on this postcard belong to J.K. Rowling. I have no intention of violating her copyrights, I make no profits with these.' I also ask exatcly the same money for a card as it has costed me to have it printed. Unfortunatly, that's quite a lot (digital print on cardboard). In fact, I'm losing money on this since I'm giving away quite some cards :)

I'll scan the books and let you know all about it once the comiket is done. ♥

Thank you!
